Crostica: a free daily acrostic puzzle
A word puzzle with a famous quotation hidden inside
What is an acrostic puzzle?
An acrostic hides a quotation inside a set of clues. Every letter of every answer is also one letter of the quotation, so each answer you solve fills in more of it. When you're done, the first letters of the answers, read from top to bottom, spell the name of the person who said it.
How Crostica works
- There is a new puzzle every day, built from a well-known quotation. Everyone plays the same one.
- Read a clue and type its answer. A right answer drops its letters into the quotation. A wrong one changes nothing. If you get stuck, you can spend coins to reveal a letter or a whole answer.
- Once you sign in, you can build your own puzzle on any topic you like, such as jazz or the Roman Empire. You get 2 free builds in any 24 hours, and each build after that costs 25 coins.
- Solve the daily puzzle every day to build a streak. The daily leaderboard ranks the fastest solves.
